A section of leaders from Ukambani clashed in the presence of President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House over who should spearhead Jubilee campaigns in the region ahead of the fresh elections.
It all started when businessman Peter Muthoka was appointed to lead President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s campaigns in the region following the nullification of his win.
Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and Former MP Joe Mutambu differed bitterly after the latter wanted a certain issue addressed during a private meeting.
Sonko, however, told off the lawmaker saying that there is no need to address certain matters in private yet they involve the entire political outfit.
I want to say here that there should be no meeting to bring people together over issue we can resolve as Kamba leaders, we either unite to deliver the votes or fail in our plans” he said, as quoted by Kenyans.co.ke
The meeting came after Former Senator David Musila led a delegation to state house. The team pledged to support President Uhuru Kenyatta beat National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga during the fresh elections.
